day 3: since i'm mostly in the habit of summing up the day in one photo i decided that today i would sum it up with this one. my major accomplishment today was finishing my prospectus; a rather minor accomplishment in the grand scheme, but enough to give me a defining sense of self. this picture is in celebration of that event. it is a photo of some lights over lake ella (probably one of my favorite spots in tallahassee, definitely where i'll miss the most) right outside of black dog cafe. i know it's dark (it's nighttime) but try to see the red lights on the horizon. i don't know why, but ever since i was a youth i've had a strange, inexplicable affinity for red lights such as those. they (for whatever the reason) remind me that there are places that aren't here, and give me some hope of movement (which is to counter my fear of stagnation) and so i get a good feeling when i see red lights slowly flashing on the horizon.
